A Rare gift of MOTHER’S DAY from a mother to her daughter

 

Mother becomes surrogate of triplet pregnancy for her daughter in 21st Century Hospital & Test Tube Baby Center, Surat.

Bhavika Kathwadia & Saurabh Kathwadia the residents of Rajkot had a love marriage 6 yrs ago. Bhavika was not menstruating & doctors in Rajkot had told her that she was not having the uterus. In spite of this problem Saurabh married her & his parents too accepted the fact that Bhavika will never mother a child & they may not get a “chirag” to their family. As days passed, seeing the children playing in vicinity both of them felt like having their own child. They contacted Dr. Purnima Nadkarni & Dr. Pooja Nadkarni Singh of 21st Century Hospital-Surat.

Dr Nadkarni said it was a rare case of Mullarian Agenesis called “Mayer Rockitanski Kuster Hauser” syndrome, in which a girl child is born without uterus. She has vagina & ovaries intact but no uterus hence does not get menses & can not bear a child. Such patients need a surrogate uterus to bear their child for 9 months. Her mother Mrs. Shobhanaben Chavada became ready to be a surrogate mother to Bhavika. Shobhanaben is 45 yrs old & having 4 children. The last one is 12 yrs old. Bhavika is her eldest daughter.

Dr. Pooja planned her IVF-ET (Test Tube Baby Treatment) method. 3 embryos were replaced in the womb of Mrs. Shobhanaben. She conceived in first attempt & is now having triplet pregnancy. The uterus which has once delivered Bhavika now will deliver Bhavika’s triplets. This is the first case of Surrogacy in the World where a real mother is becoming a surrogate to her child without uterus & going to deliver her triplets. Isn’t it a great gift of “Mother’s Day” by one mother to her child?

“મધર્સ ડે” નિમિત્તે માતાની પુત્રીને અમૂલ્ય ભેટ

 

૨૧મી સેન્ચ્યુરી હોસ્પિટલ સુરતમાં સરોગસી પદ્ધતિનો અમૂલ્ય કિસ્સો : માતા બની દાતા

 

કહેવાય છે કે માતાનું ઋણ ક્યારેય ચૂકવી શકાય નહીં. અને એ જ વાત આજે હકીકત બની હોય એવું લાગે છે. દીકરીમાં જન્મથી જ ગર્ભાશય ન હોવાથી તેની સગી માતા સરોગેટ મધર બની અને જે ગર્ભાશયમાંથી પુત્રીને જન્મ આપ્યો હતો તે જ ગર્ભાશયને પોતાની સગી પુત્રીને એના ભ્રૃણને ઉછેરવા માટે દાનમાં આપ્યું છે. આવો એક અનોખો કિસ્સો રાજકોટમાં રહેતી ભાવિકા સૌરભ કઠવાડિયા સાથે બન્યો છે. જન્મથી જ ગર્ભાશય ન હોવાની જ્યારે જાણ થઈ ત્યારે ભાવિકાને લાગ્યું કે ભગવાને તેનું માતા બનવાનું સૌભાગ્ય જ છીનવી લીધું છે. નવ માસ સુધી ગર્ભની અંદર ઉછરી રહેલા બાળકની દરેક હલનચલનને માત્ર અનુભવવી નહીં પરંતુ માણવી એ પણ એક સ્ત્રીને મળેલી ઈશ્વરીય ભેટ જ છે. તેથી જ મા બનવાના સૌભાગ્ય માટે દરેક સ્ત્રી તડપતી હોય છે. ભાવિકાના ત્રણ વર્ષના સુખી લગ્નજીવનમાં જો કોઈ ખોટ હતી તો માત્ર બાળકના ખિલખિલાટની. ભાવિકા મા બનવા માગતી હતી અને તેને પોતાનું બાળક જોઈતું હતું. પણ ગર્ભાશય ન હોવાથી એક જ પદ્ધતિ દ્વારા આ શક્ય હતું. અને તે છે સરોગસી, જેના દ્વારા તેને બાળક થઈ શકે.

હતાશ ભાવિકા જ્યારે ૨૧મી સેન્ચ્યુરી હોસ્પિટલ અને ટેસ્ટ ટ્યુબ બેબી સેન્ટર-સુરતના ડો. પૂર્ણિમા નાડકર્ણી અને ડો. પૂજા નાડકર્ણી સિંઘના સંપર્કમાં આવી ત્યારે તેને જાણે આશાનું કિરણ મળી ગયું જ્યારે ભાવિકાના મમ્મી શોભનાબેન ચાવડા જેઓ પોતે ૪૫ વર્ષના છે તેઓ પણ પોતે પોતાની દીકરીના ભ્રૃણને ગર્ભાશય આપી શકે છે એવું આશ્વાસન ડો. પૂર્ણિમા નાડકર્ણીએ તેમને આપ્યું. ભગવાને ભાવિકા પાસેથી ભલે મા બનવાનો અધિકાર છીનવી લીધો પરંતુ ભાવિકાને માતૃત્વનું સુખ મળી રહે તે માટે ભાવિકાની મમ્મી સરોગેટ મધર બનીને તેને મા કહી શકનાર બાળક આપશે.

“મધર્સ ડે” જેવા “ડે”ની ઉજવણીનું ચલણ બહારના દેશોમાંથી આપણા દેશમાં આવ્યું. તે દીવસે આજના યુવાનો પોતાને જન્મ આપનારી માતાને કાર્ડ કે ફુલ કે ગીફ્ટ આપીને યાદ કરે છે. જેનું ઋણ ક્યારેય ન ચૂકવી શકાય એવી માના જીવનનું એક જ લક્ષ્ય હોય છે સંતાનનું સુખ. ઉંમરના આ પડાવમાં પણ તે પોતાની લાડકી દીકરીના આંસુ લુછવા માટે પોતાનાથી બનતા દરેક પ્રયત્નો કરવામાં પાછળ પડતી નથી. જેથી પોતાની દીકરીએ વાંઝિયાનું મહેણું ન સાંભળવું પડે. આવી માતાને અમારા કોટી કોટી પ્રણામ.

સરોગસીના અનેક કેસમાં ઘણીવખત સરોગેટ મધર બાળકને લઈને ભાગી જતી હોય છે. ક્યાંતો ભવિષ્યમાં ક્યારેક બ્લેકમેઈલ કરીને પૈસા પણ પડાવતા હોય છે. ત્યારે આ કેસમાં મા જ પોતાની દીકરીના બાળકને જન્મ આપતી હોવાથી આ દરેક પડોજણમાંથી તેને રાહત મળશે. જોકે ખૂબ જ સ્વાભાવિક લાગતો પ્રશ્ન એ હતો કે ભાવિકાને આ ખામી હોવા છતાં તેના સાસરિયાએ તેને અપનાવી. ત્યારે ડો. પૂજા કહે છે કે આ માટે પારિવારિક સહકાર પણ એટલો જ જરૂરી હોય છે. ભાવિકાના લવ મેરેજ છે. એટલે તેના પતિ અને સાસરાવાળાને પહેલેથી જ આ વાતની ખબર હતી. વળી એક મહિનાની સારવાર દરમ્યાન સાસુ-સસરા ભાવિકા તેના પતિ અને ભાવિકાના મમ્મી-પપ્પા બધા સાથે આવતા હતા.

એક મા પોતાના બાળક માટે શું કરી શકે તેનો આ એક સીધો સાદો જવાબ છે. પોતાની દીકરીની ખુશી માટે મા આજે રાજીખુશીથી પોતાની કુખ ભાડે આપી રહી છે તે જ માતાના નામનો સાચો અર્થ સાર્થક કરી રહી છે. ગર્ભ હાલ દોઢ મહિનાનો થયો છે.

ડો. પૂજાએ જણાવ્યું કે ભાવિકાને એક મહિના સુધી હોર્મોન્સના ઈન્જેકશન આપીને બીજ બનાવવામાં આવ્યું હતું. ત્યારબાદ તેના પતિના શુક્રાણું સાથે ટેસ્ટ ટ્યુબ બેબીની સારવાર દ્વારા ફલિત કરીને ભ્રૃણ તૈયાર કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. ત્યારબાદ આ ભ્રૃણને ભાવિકાની મમ્મીના ગર્ભાશયમાં મૂકવામાં આવ્યું. હાલ છેલ્લા દોઢ મહિનાથી બાળકનો ગર્ભમાં સુરક્ષિત વિકાસ થઈ રહ્યો છે. 

રાજકોટના રહેવાસી ભાવિકાબેન અને તેમના પરિવારમાં હવે ખુશીનો માહોલ છવાઈ ગયો છે.
